If a place is considered hip, it's lost its hip mystique. See Williamsburg, SF, and wicker park for examples.

I went with NY, L.A., Vegas, Miami, Nashville, and Austin. I'm sorry but Seattle is not hip, except maybe for fans of Microsoft or Boeing. L.A. is the hippest, I think, although NY has more hipsters - but hipsters are not hip, they're just freakin annoying and loathsome.

In these times......Texas as a whole, NYC, CA , ATL, LV and MIA.

I'm just basing my opinion on where I live. I hears lots of people say they want to visit or live in CA or NY, Go to ATL and become a rapper, model, dancer, or actor (mainly african americans) ,gamble in LV, and party in MIA.

I voted for NY, LA, SF. I was born and raised in NYC. Yes, it's cool, especially when you are a 20 something.

New York is the most trendsetting city around, especially when it comes to clothing design.

Los Angeles is the leader when it comes to new activities and home design.

San Francisco sets the trends for the business world and technology.

Chicago should get honourable mention for its strong influence in home design as well as the site of most of the worlds home shows.
