I know many of you will continue to underrate the region, but I'm not boasting it to anything that it's not. It's a great place to live and through my travels across the country, I feel it's no place like it. Just thought I'd share that with you.Feel free to discuss your feelings, criticisms, etc.I won't get defensive or interfere, just sayin'.

Having seven sizable cities is a definite plus in terms of variety. It's a nightmare in terms of regional cooperation, etc. I think that's one reason why the region is underrated and often underlooked: there's no one city that has everything that a typical central city of a metro of ~1.7 million has to offer.

Yeah, true.

On any given weekend, you can find yourself in three or four different cities just doing normal things. But it's cool, you continue to encounter differnt environments.

I do not know why you say that Hampton Roads has things to offer. Hampton Roads is underrated because in fact it is underrated. This place here do not have anything to offer, maybe just the beach at the ocean front at Virginia Beach. Other than that, this place here do not offer anything. I am just here because I have no other choice. If I had a choice I would move back to NY.

I'm sure you would. I bet you haven't been to 90% of the places showcased in the pictures. Your forced to be here and won't even try to accept what HR has to offer because you have an idea of New York City in your head. You probably go to the Naval Station and home every day.

But if that's how you feel.. then hey.

Being closed for two reasons:

1) It's city-specific. Does not belong in here.

2) Photos are too numerous per posting and some too large per the room sticky: //www.city-data.com/forum/city-...e-posting.html
