I've always wanted to visit Seattle, and possible live there if the opportunity presented itself. Meanwhile I live in San Diego, and you won't hear me complaining about that!
Interestingly enough, Denver, Seattle, and San Diego topped a recent Forbes (I think) survey on "Where would you rather live?"
For all the accolades San Diego receives for it's weather, I think the monotony would drive me up a wall. Sure it would be awesome for a year or two, but eventually I would want some variation in there at some point.
Don't get me wrong I love 75 degree no humidity weather, but in my opinion it would get stale to experience that day in day out. I enjoy cooler temps in the winter and having the weather actually change a little bit during the course of a year. That being said, it's sunny today in Seattle with a high of 52, but looking at tomorrow's forecast for San Diego (sunny and 75), I would definitely trade for a few days.
Seattle's weather is much more varied than San Diego. Yes there are plentiful clouds and rainy days, but for "much of the year" is a bit of an exaggeration. For example, our summer climate is drastically different than our winter climate. The same could not really be said of San Diego. Anyway, climate is one component of what you should consider when evaluating a city. How about the other factors? I am pretty sure this exact thread has already been done to death already, so I will refrain from contributing further.
