Which of these 2 cities would you say has the most urban core? Walkability, vibrancy, built environment, etc.

Denver is better for walkability and vibrancy but Atlanta is significantly larger. I think another small city that can give Atlanta a run for it's money is Portland.

I did that thread 3 years ago and Portland won 55-50. This thread doesn't look like it will end well.

For Atlanta, which one? If you're combing Downtown, Midtown, and Buckhead, then it's Atlanta easily. Downtown Denver vs Downtown Atlanta is a different scenario though.

Talking about the cores, so if those areas are part of the core of Atlanta then yes that's included.

Atlanta's core is a lot larger as Grapico said. Downtown and Midtown alone is a large core area along with the urban neighborhoods that abut this zone. And people on this forum underestimate just how large Downtown Atlanta really is and how many neighborhoods consist of downtown alone...The Eastside of downtown feels significantly different than the Fairlie Poplar or Marietta Artery neighborhoods towards the west.

Here are a couple of aerials of Atlanta...

Also, I personally think Atlanta's core feels more historic and gritty.

Just because a city has more high rises and larger area does not mean better core, case in point Houston vs Denver.

I think Downtown and Midtown Atlanta are what I consider the urban core of Atlanta. Buckhead is just too displaced. Still, significantly larger than Denver's. Downtown and Midtown have no breaks in the urbanity.

Wow that aerial of Atlanta puts other southern cities to shame.

While disconnected by a few miles, Buckhead also ads a decently long linear stretch of quasi urban area than Denver doesn't have.
