[quote=supermanpansy;13560893]I disagree with your argument. Most of those cities that you have mentioned have a very high percentage of blacks. Detroit is almost at 90%. I am not saying anything that most people don't know. I am also not being a racist. I am simply going by statistics. Often cities with high percentage of minorities have high murder rates. There can be many reasons for this and we could talk about them for decades, but as for now the fact remains.
Out of the top 100 largest cities, Detroit has been the city with the highest percentage of black people for the last 20 yrs. Guess what, despite being fueled by those bogus most dangerous cities lists in recent years, Detroit has not posted the highest per capita murder rate of the 100 largest cities in America in any given year since 1987. That's where the hole in your argument lies.
Newark, New Jersey is only 26% white and didn't have a single murder in the month of March.
Memphis is like 56% black but it's per capita murder rate is rarely in the top 10.
Dekalb County, Ga. has 22 murders so far. The county averages 120-150 a year. Several years ago there was 16 police involved shootings alone in just one year. Several officers killed over a three year period. In one incident, two officers killed at same time. The county is 225 square miles, with a population of 760,000 Its located in the Atlanta, metro.
Sounds just like Prince George's county, MD has around 100-160 murders a year (99 for 09 ) but ours is divided by the beltway....inside the beltway is where 85% of the murders occur outside the beltway is the reason why they say its the wealthiest AA county...dekalb is #2
Murder is not directly related to race, as we see in Juarez concerning the drug trade. But, as long as so many poor American blacks choose to live in big-city ghettos, they will continue to live amongst violence. A black doctor once told me, the only thing he owed the ghetto was to get out.

I don't know if they so much as "choose" to live in rough parts of cities. They are often caught in a cycle that can be hard to defy
South Jamaica, NY currently has 5 going by the NYPD's inaccurate stats (they've been exposed), its still sort of a lot considering its population is below 100k.
NYC as a whole is closing in on the 100 mark, this time last year they were at about 80.

Memphis' is #2 in violent crime but it's per-capita murder rate is nowhere near top 10 maybe not even top 15 and normally isn't over the last 20-25 yrs. Violent crime rate does not equal murder rate.
As a black man its frustrating seeing people ignorantly equate crime to race.
Why don't you see crime everywhere in places like Baldwin Hills?
It's a social and economic issue, not a race issue.
+1, I fully agree.
