Long Island is nice and All but SWCT has big cities (Stamford, New Haven, Bridgeport, Norwalk) that are more reachable in terms of affordability for working class people. Your also not trapped like in LI where the only way out is through the biggest city in the nation.

I like the LI shore better though, it has both the LI bay and the Ocean, but at least CT has a shore.

Depends on what town and how much money you have.

SW Connecticut aka Fairfield County, is famous for its wealthy towns while Long Island is much more middle class. However despite the stereotype there are middle class people in Fairfield, and wealthy people on Long Island. For instance, the North Shore of Nassau County actually looks rural because of the large estates.

Long Island, especially Nassau County has better access to NYC while it is much easier for Fairfield residents to get away to upstate NY or other parts of New England. Long Islanders have better access to major airports but have to put up with much more local traffic.

Long Islanders have more and much better beaches, while SW Connecticut residents find it easier to get away to the country for the weekend. I also get the impression from reading the Connecticut forum, that Long Island has alot more stores and supermarkets. But this is probably because of the larger dense population.

For the wealthiest Long Islanders, who live in "estate villages" like Old Westbury, Cove Neck, Muttontown, Oyster Bay Cove, Lloyd Harbor, Head of the Harbor, etc. that are not crowded and look like parts of SW Connecticut, well they get the best of both worlds.

Lol BP, I think you mean the LI Sound not the LI Bay.
