I've been to only two of those on the list, Puerto Rico and Alaska. Alaska wins hands down! Puerto Rico is dirty and crime ridden outside of the real toursity areas and not really attractive. It's warm, that's about it. Even the tour guides warn not to wander out side of the tourist areas.
Alaska is wonderful. Amazingly beautiful no matter where you look. friendly people, just amazing. Yes you may have to worry about the wildlife if you wander a bit but Alaskans welcome you to bring a gun with you and use it if necessary which is highly unlikely, but at least the option is there.

I've been to HI, AK, VI and PR - and I'd actually pick any of the other places, I love to go somewhere new. If I had to pick, I'd pick the Mariana - seems the most unusual.

I would go to the Northern Marian Islands. I know it was important in WW II, the battle of Saipan and that. Since it doesn't seem to have any strategic importance, I wonder how much longer it will be a U.S. Territory.
