Apart from tech jobs, what area do you consider has more to offer in terms of natual scenary, amenities, restaurants, shopping and overall which area is better to live in? They are mostly nice surburban areas beside a major city, with a few exceptions.

nyc/dc/chicago also have pretty large tech sectors outside of the bay.

They do. But I don't think they are as focused as the areas mentioned.

Sorry I just included the areas that are prominent in IT. Boston is big in biotech but not so much in IT.

oh definitely not, I just meant they had the high paying tech jobs as well. They are not near as focused as sv, I think something like every 350/1000 workers work in IT in sv...

how about suburban dallas cities? I know there is a huge data link going through and cheap data centers there...

I don't know what city it woudl be in, but it is not Austin I am thinking about...
