I really don't shop at any of these places; I prefer Burlington Coat Factory. However, If I had to pick I would go with Nordstorm or Macy's. JcPenny, Khols, and Dillard's aren't that bad though. Never shop at the other stores except I bought a vaccum from Sears.
But they all pale in comparison to Barneys on Madison Avenue in NYC.

I have a question for you. Have you ever actually been anywhere besides Dallas? I notice that you have posted topics about shopping and now department stores, but it doesn't appear that you have first hand knowledge of anything outside of Dallas.
Nordstrom is my pick. Great customer service, fantastic return policy, 2 restaurants(Flagship Seattle), great tradition like Christmas display the day after Thanksgiving and no sooner.

My favorite is Nordstrom. I got it from my wife. She even used to work at Dillard's but shopped at Nordstrom! She slowly converted me. I started to really appreciate getting the better service to complement my purchases. I'm blown away at their customer service. You can go into any store anywhere in the country and expect the sales representatives to know about the product and accommodate you if you have any special requests. All in all, Nordstrom is a fantastic shopping experience.
I also like Kohl's. Great store for the every-day business casual wear. They are always selling everything on sale, so you can save some $$$ in there.
