My favorite big city in Texas. I like it more than both Houston & Dallas. You guys are lucky to have that with you in the Metroplex. Like I mean it, it's one of of the most authentic places in the state.
Dallas-Plano-Irving Metropolitan Division is 4,226,003 in population.
Fort Worth- Arlington Metropolitan Division is 2,074,003 in population.
Denver Metropolitan Area is 2,552,195 in population.
Denver's MSA population and City Proper population is a lot more similar to Fort Worth's Metropolitan Division population and to Fort Worth's city proper population than Dallas.
Even after taking Fort Worth's Metropolitan Division out of the equation Dallas's Metropolitan Division trumps Denver's.
I say this was a very unfair match up, as Denver has some baller aspects to it, it is still a far smaller city and Metropolitan area compared to Dallas/Dallas Metropolitan Division. And it is way to small compared to the entire DFW Metroplex.
Dallas City Proper: 1.3 million
Fort Worth City Proper: 727,575
Denver City Proper: 610,345
In a lot of ways more than one Denver by it's growth reminds me much of Dallas. Denver is experiencing great growth and economic stability and progress just like Dallas has.
All three cities are great, just goes on what you value the most. I like the scenery to Denver, but I like the vibe to Fort Worth, I am used to Dallas because of Houston, so it isn't a new experience for me at all.
Dallas City Proper: 1.3 million
Fort Worth City Proper: 727,575
Denver City Proper: 610,345
I like Ft Worth For whaT its Worth
But I look at the difference in population, how does Ft Worth have 730K people? I have been there many times and love it, but every time I read these I go nuts, so I look up the land area and through my insanity find how large they are, well it is about the size (a little smaller than) of Montgomery County PA (which I would never confuse with a city it is friggin huge area wise and suburban), with the same population. About the same density. Ugh these city boundaries drive me nuts. Ok back to the topic. Ft Worth feels so much smaller (Really to me feels like a city of less than 100K, Charleston SC feels much bigger as a city) than does Denver.
I really like Ft Worth for what it is but it has always felt pretty compact and very easy to navigate on foot. It also just seems Texan somehow, and I like that
ok back to your regularly scheduled program. I got to stop looking at this stuff I am driving myself nuts...
I have to go with Denver on this one. Even though Dallas is just as progressive for the most part, Denver just feels more vibrant and energetic, especially in its downtown. It doesn't come close to Dallas in shopping options though, but since I can't afford most of it anyway, that's irrelevant to me.

Interestingly enough, present day Denver is located where Texas used to extend all the way too before ceding much of that land to the union to pay off the $14 dollar debt.
Technically Dallas/Denver are blood brothers or something of that sort.
