Both are rapidly growing American metros with a lot to offer. Which city would you choose in terms of jobs, culture, food, outdoor activities, and overall lifestyle?
I like Denver a lot more, especially because of LoDo. Also because the Rockies, Broncos, and Avs are right there downtown, unlike Dallas with the Rangers in Arlington.

I really do believe the Rangers have the worse location in baseball. Every other team is either putting it's team in an urban environment but the Rangers afterwhile will be the only team in a suburban area. I bet as soon as their lease is up, they will be looking for new digs in DTD. Well at least I hope.
But yeah, I pick Dallas. It has more of what I'm looking for.

There is nothing wrong with the Texas Rangers locations. Oakland and Anaheim also play in suburban communities.
Jobs—Dallas
Culture—Dallas
Food—Dallas
Outdoor activities—Denver
Overall lifestyle—Depends. Both METROS are very auto-dependent, but Denver has more ped friendly neighborhoods than Dallas. OTOH, Dallas has a larger rail transit network serving its massive suburbs, but Denver is currently in the process of a major LRT expansion to their system. Denver is close to the Rocky Mountains, while the Metroplex is close to the Ozarks. Denver is extremely isolated from other cities of stature, while Dallas is located 3-4 hours from Austin, San Antonio, Houston, OKC, and Little Rock. It just depends on what you like. Personally, I would go with Dallas because it's bigger, more diverse, less isolated, less dry, and close to big lakes.

The experience of attending a game at the Ballpark in Arlington within a community is the worse in baseball. That's why you see teams trying to get to downtowns or urban communities throughout the league The Florida Marlins open a new stadium not far from Downtown Miami next year. The Twins didn't move to Bloomington. They moved right to downtown Minneapolis. All the new ballparks in the last few years (Nationals, Mariners, Tigers, Pirates,Padres) have a much better experience inside the ballpark and out because of where the location is actually at. Sorry but most baseball fans would tell you that while the Ballpark is nice inside, the setting and location is terrible. Even people on the Dallasmetropolis and Fort Worth board both agree that the location of the Rangers is the worse in baseball.
^^ Ballpark at Arlington sits in the middle of parking lots way the hell out in Arlington, catty-corner to a Walmart. Hardly what I'd call a good environment for a baseball stadium. Unlike Football, I think an intimate ballpark in the middle of or near a downtown area enhances it.
Back on topic, I'd say that Denver trumps Dallas easily in terms of outdoor activities. Other than that, i'd pick Dallas for the other factors.
