Which cities do you think are emerging as world cities? I didn't include L.A., New York, DC, Chicago, and the SF Bay Area, because I feel those are already in that category.

DC is probably going to become an Alpha soon.

Houston, Dallas, Atlanta have no where to go but up.

I think if D.C. improves its transportation infrastructure I'll be Alpha very soon. Population city proper is rising again 600K now, metro had over 5 million, murders seem to be going down as well, diversity is increasing, massive projects underway, its only a matter of time. I think is DC was able to function like a 24/7 city, meaning having trains and major bus lines run 24/7 it'll be Alpha, something like that would make more people want to move to D.C. and businesses like bars/clubs/etc...... could extend their hours as well. The main issue is money right now though.

I picked Atlanta due to all the news industry, the Coca-Cola bottling facility, and the airport. Also the magician

Houston could surpass Chicago one day, so I guess it's that, and Houston economy is one of the top 20.
But other cities could emerge as world cities :
-Dallas
-San Antonio
-Seattle
-Atlanta
