I don't think that's necessarily the case.
I think he/she is trying to prove that the West Coast isn't "all that" in terms of the common (yet Ignorant) perception made by people who make it seem it's perfect in almost every single way.
He... lol
And yea, basically this... obviously I don't want to give off the idea that the west coast is a ****hole but its not all peaches and cream either... that hasn't been my experience living here.
Thanks, I'm definitely looking forward to it!
I just used this thread to shed some light on Newark.

ckh, Syracuse looks so much better in person, I always feel like google maps makes most places look dreary (unless it's in an HD zone)
What I showed were rougher neighborhoods that have the big homes that the OP was looking for. I can show some very nice homes in urban neighborhoods in Syracuse too.

I figured, but it's best not to assume.
Yea, I've noticed you around here being very balanced when talking about the region you live in.

That 1st one is hella nice... that looks like something out of a picture. Being in NY those must cost $$$$$$$$$... lol
Not in Syracuse. It is one of the most affordable and stable housing markets in the US right now. That first area is called Sedgwick, which is arguably the nicest neighborhood in the city of Syracuse. The area with the lake in the park with the homes across the street is Strathmore, which is also an old money neighborhood. To be honest, you can find nice homes in the suburbs for 100k in this area with good schools too.

Syracuse is a beautiful city, no doubt, but I always found google maps to be "blah" regardless of location (unless it's in a HD zone). I shouldn't really rag on the app because it's honestly fantastic.

Really? wow... that's mind boggling to someone from the bay. "Cheap housing" here is $300,000+... $100,000 wouldn't even get you a house on the worst street in Deep East Oakland. lol
