Let's remember that the thread merely said what city would compare to NYC? It didn't specify whether the comparisons are favorable or not. In that respect, nothing compares. NYC has more of everything. More tall buildings in a certain density. More people. More ethnicities. More foreign cabbies. More penthouses. More organized crime. More elitists. More $$$. More theatre. More Snookies...OK. That's Jersey, more like NYC wannabes...Anyway...

And being from Los Angeles, I agree with this poster. LA is spread out. There is no real center, not to the scale of Manhattan anyway. But who is to say what's better? That's a matter of taste and highly individual. Just remember, rest of the world, the image of LA I see projected to much of the world is only a small portion of it. West LA. Rodeo Drive. Beverly Hills. Hollywood. These are the draws for much of the rest of the world. There is so much more to this place but hey...it's just regular, working folks, stay at home moms and relatively unknown artists. Real folks. It would be reality TV were reality TV really reality. Got that?

I didnt say one was better then the other, to each his own. but to say LA and Ny are similar is ridiculous.

I think most people who've been to these cities will agree they're practically polar opposites. It's as if LA intentionally designed itself to be NOT NYC.

Here's my take.

If New York, Chicago and Los Angeles were sisters:

New York would be the older and self-entitled sister,

Chicago would be the pretty and taller sister,

Los Angeles would be the younger, nymphomaniac sister with implants.

LOL!!!! They're all very different cities.

Amen Vinne from da Bronx...A-f***ing-men. Anyway, these days there are enough transplants in both to have changed what they were once upon a time. Here's to love all around!

And here's something this life long Angel / Dodger fan thought he would never say...Derek Jeter is the f***ing s**t! No doubt. He is the man!
