Hi everyone,

STOLEN 2005 PEARL WHITE ACURA TL 3.2 WITH NAVIGATION. TEMP TAGS ON CAR.

My boyfriend and I were in Charlotte Oct 4/5 for a wedding staying at the Omni hotel. We valeted our 1-week old car at 4:15 on Oct 4; at 2:00 on Sunday Oct 5 (when we were checking out of the hotel) the valet tells us our car was stolen. Obviously they did not monitor the lot to ensure the car that was in their posession was infact still parked in the garage!

There was a set of keys hidden in the car (yes, dumb, we know) and the valet had the other key. However, if the car were locked as it should have been, this would be no issue. It is our belief that someone working for the valet found the extra set of keys hidden in the car and handed them off to a friend who then came and took the car. Security videos show a early 20s-ish white male taking the car at 5:43 pm on Oct 4 -- 1.5 hours after we valeted...broad daylight!! The thief got in the car, rolled down all the windows and sunroff...obviously VERY comfortable and confident. Detective says this is extremely unusual.

The car is a 2005 White Pearl Acura TL 3.2 with built in navigation. It had temp tags, as we only had the car for one week. A young 20s white male stole the car on Saturday Oct 4 at 5:43 pm from the Omni hotel parking deck in Uptown Charlotte. Please reply or contact the police if you have any information.

Please be on the lookout and let me know if you have any ideas. Thank you!

This is a nightmare. I am so very sorry to hear about this horrible situation. I can't imagine how I would react.

Even if the hotel has a disclaimer a mile long (re: no responsibility for stolen cars) I had an attorney tell me once that they can be sued. Have you considered doing that?

I hope you find your car . . . or at least catch up w/ the thug who had the audacity to rip it off.
