I know we've been over it before, but most of the "big" cities are big because of the boundary sprawl of the city proper. The Cleveland Area is still quite populous. Also, most of the "big" cities are also newer cities (developed in the 50's and 60's) which are mostly cookie-cutter and consist of carpetbaggers and illegal immigrants. The only culture and history they have is the little that people brough with them and much of it is only 2 generations deep.

I always say even though we are only the 43rd largest city, we have the amenities and culture of a top 15 city.

From what I saw of that article they were stressing affordable over best tourist spots. I really don't think if price is not taken into consideration, people would then prefer say Vegas or Orlando over Cleveland. I am pretty sure Cleveland is not even in the 25 top tourist destinations. Just being honest, lets face it given a choice most kids scream for Disney World rather then Cleveland.

That's why it is the Top AFFORDABLE Travel destination, not most desired.

If you read the really poorly written article, this thread is based on it didn't stress the affordable part and made it seem like it was as desirable as Orlando and Miami as stated in the last sentence. That was the point of my post.

Please go. You hate Cleveland, as evident from you and the hubbies thread you had. Ironically, you never posted a reply when I showed you that Cleveland metro was the 10th safest, when you kept saying how dangerous it was.

Please go??? Who are you to tell me to go?? I didn't know you owned this forum and you can tell people if they can post. I saw this forum and it made no sense, so I tried to understand it. As for my "hubbie" he doesn't even look at these forums because of their hated of reality as he puts it.

As for this thread which you are way off topic. Do you and your ilk honestly believe that Cleveland has become a major tourist hub on the level of Orlando, Miami or Vegas? If you do, you won't get my scorn only my pity for living in a weird fantasy world.

BTW I don't hate Cleveland, but if I see a problem I don't retreat into my little fantasy world and deny it exists. It actually hurts me to see that my birth city has become a joke to the rest of the country.

They (Travel and Leisure) believes Cleveland is a Top 30 travel destination, which is why it made the list. Out of the 29 other cities selected, Cleveland had the rankings that I originially listed.

#1 Affordable
#2 Classical Music
#4 Farmers' Markets
#6 Theaters
#7 Museums/Galleries
#7 Transportation to and from Airport
#10 Live Music/ Concerts and Bands
#11 Neighborhood Joints
#11 Ethnic Foods
#16 Best Summer Spot

Simple as that.
