With all the attactions in Downtown Cleveland and the redevelopment of the Flats, Lake Erie Development, Major Sports and Casino etc... Is Cleveland considered a vacation destination or can we become one? We have beaches, famous attractions etc...Would you take a vacation to Cleveland?

I am an ex-Clevelander who loves to visit as a tourist. There is so much to do. The museums are outstanding and there is no shortage of terrific restaurants. I love the variety of ethnic restaurants. Of course it is always a delight to see the lake.

LOL.

Perhaps regionally. And not during the winter.

Out of curiosity, would you count Cedar Point as a Cleveland attraction. If yes, then it becomes definitely. Even without Cedar Point, there is a good bit to do. The Rock and Roll hall of fame alone can take 2-3 days to get through. I also enjoy walking along the lakefront, seems very relaxing. That is one major asset that Cleveland possesses that Pittsburgh lacks . Anyways, I see the city becoming a more popular destination for weekend trips for those from the BOS-WASH corridor.

I wouldn't consider Cedar Point Amusement park a Cleveland attraction but its close enough. You can exactly take a boat cruise in Cleveland on the Lake over to Cedar Point. If you look up Cleveland vacation and travel guide Cedar Point is listed as one of the top attractions....

I would count Cedar Point as a Cleveland-area attraction since it is within an hour's drive of Cleveland. I do know that many people from outside the area visit Cedar Point. But I'm wondering how many of them take the time to actually drive in to Cleveland proper from there.
