I remember that too. Right around the same spot too I believe. I'm not a fan of the bridge either.

People need to be sane about this. It's really no different than any other fatal traffic accident. The bridge has carried over a billion cars during its existence with an excellent track record with regards to fatalities (1 per 500 million vehicles -- 2 in 30 years). 40,000+ die in traffic accidents each year in the US. Out of the 1.2 million+ who have died on the nations roadways in the past 30 years, only 2 can be attributed to the VV bridge. Driving on it is truly no more dangerous than driving on the rest of the freeway. Statistically, it's actually much safer.

Agree, it's just the method of death, a 200 foot plunge. While going over, you have a few seconds to think to yourself you are going to die.

People are sane about it. Some get nervous on it. I don't, but many do.

Doesn't change the fact that it's still a pretty effed up way to go...

Eh, there are a lot of people putting blame on the structure itself and that is ridiculous. Besides, nobody knows yet what actually killed him. He could have had a heart attack behind the wheel. Even if the cause of death was the fall (or the sudden stop at the end), the chances of it happening again are miniscule.
