I have visited this place and even volunteered there....I believe its a solid Science Center it may not be the best in the world but kids love it especially with all of the exhibits they have and demonstrations they put on. It opened in 1996 so I don't know if you were in Cleveland or not. Also another popular thing for families is the "Omnimax" theater which is a dome and a fish lens projects a movie at an 180 degree field of view so its as if you are there because you are surrounded by the movie. Hope this helps!!

It's pretty darn good.

It also has two more things:

1) IMAX movie theater
2) NASA Glenn visitor's center

The Great Lakes Science Center is totally awesome. I have taken a couple of dates there before. The thing I always laugh at on my way to work though is the windmill, how sometimes it just sits still. All joking aside, it is a great place for families, and kids especially. In fact, I might take the family there when I get back from Iraq.

Yes I and my young son and nephew at the time went soon after it opened up
they had a blast I would imagine now it has many more interactive displays.
One of the current activities going on now is the Nasa Glenn space walk and other
things like that and the kids can build a rocket and luanch it , within this chamber
and if it flys far enough and rings the bell , They get a small prize.
I would make sure that there is no school field trips the day you attend, Not sure
How you would find that out , Remember most of them accur May and June
On one such visit , while the little visitors were well behaved , The lines
seemed to take forever . On A Side Note although I have never been
The Chidrens Museum in Univerity Circle of cource.
Hope this helps
