I heard someone talking on the radio this weekend that the Browns should do away with everything from their uniforms to their names and start as a completely rebranded franchise to lift their curse. Is there something to this? I guess things like name (which is pretty lame) and uniforms (which are also pretty lame) can have a pretty big impact on a team's collective psyche. What do you think?

Sorry, I guess I would feel pretty bad about losing the name and the colors, but I think it's also strange that this team which isn't really historically continuous with the pre-1994 Browns still has the same old name and uniforms with no logo. It's hard to be taken seriously as a franchise (or for that matter to take yourself seriously) when you're wearing 1940s era uniforms.

It's not like the uniforms are unchanged since the 1940s. I wouldn't say they are 1940s era uniforms. Some of the most successful sports franchises have logos that have gone virtually unchanged since the early 1900s (ex. NY Yankees).

So, what do you think? Half-nekkid cheerleaders?

With there being so many Browns backers all over the country...I'm guessing...NO.

Not old-fashioned. Classy. Browns, Bears, Cowboys, Colts, and some others have FOOTBALL uniforms, not video-game costumes.

Why don't the Browns and the Bengals trade everything they have to each other, down to even their names? The Cleveland Bengals? The Cincinnati Browns? Now there's a real idea, huh?

I was raised a Brown's fan, but happily jumped ship to my husband's team 9 years ago (Saints). This rebranding doesn't sound like a bad idea. Every year after the NFL draft I hear my brothers talking about how good the Brown's are going to be "this" year. But every season ends in maybe "next" year. So depressing. I say rebrand and get some new juju...it couldn't hurt, that's for sure.
