I went to a whiskey tasting where the owner of the company came and blind tested us on his Whiskey vs. a competitor.
It was very cool.
A couple of the neat things he told us.

They test marketed the name all over the midwest against a few others names (which he didn't reveal because he may use them for other types of booze).
It outscored every other Item by a wide margin.
When asking the market testers what that name might signify to them in just a word or two... gotta admit I was surprised:
- Entrepreneurial
- Edgy
- Gritty
- Creative
- Down to earth

Have to admit I was surprised by Edgy and Creative... I mean I know that but wouldn't expect outsiders to say that.

He received some good help from a local business incubator and was really happy with the assistance provided there. Something not many other cities were offering.

Overall it is doing really well in the local market and was released in Chicago recently... where it is EXPLODING. People are loving it there.

Taste test results were split 50/50 as to who preferred what. Then we found out the "hidden competitor" was Knob Creek.
I chose the Cleveland Whiskey. Not a big Whiskey guy, though.

We then sampled the "Holiday Edition" that had a bit of spice in it. That one I really liked.

I have a spoiled bourbon and single malt palate. So, naturally, I found this stuff to be flat in profile and harsh. I think there is a huge novelty aspect to it but, nevertheless, I wish them much success. There is definitely a market for it.

Bought a bottle. Enjoyed it. I'm no expert for sure, but I thought it was up there with the other premium brands I've tried.
