How much do utilities cost in Cleveland? I'd be really interested to know how much someone in a 1 or 2BR apartment pays for gas/water/elec each month so I can guesstimate how much "all utilities included" is worth when considering apartments.

I have heard from some people who pay their heating bill that its between $50-100. It just depends on the tempurature you have your heat on and how much hot water you use. Of course the bill would be a lot higher for a 2bdrm since there is more space to heat up.

I personally would rather live in an "all utilities included" apartment. I live in a 2bdrm apartment in Shaker Hts and my rent is less than $700. I just have to pay for the electricity(very cheap) and parking. The latter is optional and of course makes the rent higher, but it is worth it.

This should make you all feel better. Moved to NJ for job. Summer electric rate is over 20 cents per KWH!

As a bonus... Many of the heating systems here are not well suited for central air so we get alot of places with inefficient wall units.

August bill was ~$420 for 1200 SF raised ranch.

December heating costs because of oil is around $400.
