Just curious what you guys think of this. From a marketing perspective, it might make sense to try to capture more of the Central Ohio market, which is pretty split between the Browns and Bengals. Having the training camp in Columbus would add an element of making it more of a "home" team, I guess. But it can't sit well with everyone.

Hate this idea. I get it from a marketing perspective, but I still hate it.
Berea + Browns forever

Yeah, I definitely don't think it would sit well, especially with how popular practices are in Berea. I could see if they did a few practices or some type of "Browns-Fest" in Columbus, but moving camp entirely would alienate many.

They can do what the cavs do and go down to Columbus for a couple of days. But people in Cleveland love watching the Browns in Berea. Browns wouldn't want to disillusion the fans like that. Columbus already has Ohio state to keep them occupied with football. They don't need more and I don't think they'd really care about having Browns practices either.

Training camp should stay in Cleveland but a preseason Cincinnati-Cleveland game should be played every year in Columbus as one of the pre-season games.

Yes. These ideas would make more sense than moving the whole training camp down there. Look, I get it from a marketing perspective in possibly trying to win back fans in other parts of the state, given that Columbus has a split on Browns, Bengals and Steelers fans (how anyone born and raised in Ohio with no ties to PA can root for those scumbags is beyone me). But consistently winning would do a much better job, than moving training camp.

From the tone of the articles I'm seeing, this move seems kind of likely, especially if they can work out plans for a new facility in the area. Are Berea residents putting up any kind of resistance?

I wonder if the Browns will build the facility in some township where they wouldn't have to pay income taxes on salaries.

Maybe, but that would be unlikely if any new facility is shared with the Crew. It would be either within the city or one of the near suburbs.
