I currently live in Texas and my boyfriend and i are considering moving to Ohio. We want to see the world and want to experience the four season. Down here in the south we don't get any of that. We have been here for over 20 years and we aren't getting any younger but i do want to do my research first. Any advice or input?

We are going to visit his cousin at the end of may and see where about we want to live. But we want to move right after that since we are there anyways we want to try and apply for jobs while we are there and try and find an apartment there. How do you find a place to live without having a job there yet?

Good luck on the upcoming move!

I will tell you Cleveland is fairly easy to navigate wherever you pick. One idea -- You could focus on a more central location to allow for equal travel distance in the metro: Downtown, Ohio City, Tremont, Hingetown, or Detroit-Shoreway/Gordon Square.

What are you seeking?

- apartment or house? (rent or buy?)
- walkable neighborhood?
- shopping?
- bars / restaurants?
- Access to Public transportation?
- quiet area?
- more lively?
- access to the Lake or the metroparks?
- do you need schools?

I'm a real estate agent, and generally unless you find a place without a job your options are limited to paying all the rent in advance unless you find someone such as a good friend or family member willing to give you a character reference to someone else.

One option maybe is moving into a Value Place hotel for a couple weeks and then find a job during that time.
