Hello every one. I just plan to move to Cleveland, but I really worried about safety living in this city.
I want to rent 2 bed room close to university heights, after driving around the city 2 days, I give up relocation in Shaker heights and Cleveland Heights.
It seems I need to pay $1000 to rent at a good district.
Is it safe move to Parma or Brooklyn? It seems $1000 is not enough to rent in beach wood and Broadview heights.
Could you suggest some area to rent?
It would be Appreciated for your suggestion!

Parma is a safe area. Look in the state rd. area (Ukrainian village) or ridge/snow rd. area neighborhood (polish village) .

Yes they are all safe. But well out of reach for OP's budget, maybe Coventry would be the most affordable.

Also, who in the world was in charge of getting pictures for this article entitled the "most beautiful" neighborhoods???? These are pretty bad photos.

Especially the one for Detroit-Shoreway. That's just lazy.

I'd also say Detroit-Shoreway is probably the least conventionally safe. I didn't have issues living there, but it's currently seeing an upswing in crime that tends to accompany a rapidly gentrifying neighborhood. That being said, OP might be able to find some rentals there within close proximity to worthwhile things. I was able to rent 2000 sq ft (in good condition!) for under 1k.

To the OP, how does something like this stack up? Still too pricey?

Some good rentals on Lake Ave, too: http://www.zillow.com/homedetails/11...95674365_zpid/

If the goal is more suburban, Parma is fine. It's a bit boring, though. I personally like Brooklyn and Old Brooklyn.

Thank you so much for your reply and so much information!
You are really so nice! However I ever searched in little Italy area and found the house is very very old, the road is narrow, so many cars only can park on the road.

Some good rentals on Lake Ave, too: 11843 Lake Ave, Lakewood, OH 44107 | Zillow

Hi,J-was, Thanks for the link you provided.
Cleveland has many good apartments, it's really safe and homelike.
I have small business, everyday I have many packages from UPS and FedEx, live in an apartment just like 2 floor and up is not fit for me.
I need to rent first floor when I open the door the ups can pass the package to me directly. I know there are few apartments like this without hallway, I just looking for it. otherwise I will rent house.
Thanks again for your reply!

LOL...I thought that too. I'm sure hoping they're prettier than they appear in the article.
