Hey all!

I have to get out of town...the air is literally going to get me. These fires are the craziest thing! I have lived through them all, but the air was never this bad.

Anyway, I may take my son to CLE this week, but want to get him snowboarding. Peak N Peak looks like a full mountain type. If you know of another that is closer to CLE, please share.

It would be fun to stay at a lodge type place for 2 nights. Rest of week, we are in CLE downtown as usual.

Thanks,
Rob "smoked out in Santa Barbara" Regan

Snow Trails, Alpine Valley, and Boston Mills/Brandywine are all much closer, but they're a pretty big letdown if you guys are used to Tahoe or Aspen. Enough to scratch the itch, but that's about it.

Peak n Peak, however, is a pretty fantastic little resort. I used to go there all the time when I lived in Cleveland. The hotel is pretty nice, I remember the rooms being dated but they may have refreshed the place in the past decade since I've been there. Also has a nice pool and an indoor/outdoor hot tub.

You might also want to look into Holiday Valley as well, which is a little bit further east than PnP but it's probably one of the best ski resorts in the eastern part of North America.

Took a lady from Santa Fe (used to Northern New Mexico's 12,000 ft. mountains) to Boston Mills and she started laughing hysterically when she saw the slopes of NE Ohio. I think she's still laughing a year later.
Agreed, good place to scratch the itch though.
I second Holiday Valley. Or maybe even places in Michigan like Boyne, if you're more into tougher runs.
Peak 'n' Peak will do the trick for a quick day trip. While there, check out the Lucille Ball museum (her hometown) in Jamestown. It's very good.

Thanks all. We ended up at Peak N Peak. We are not used to the Tahoe and Mammoth deal. Those are $159 for ONE lift tix these days.

I got a room and 4 lift tix. for $160.

Place was awesome for me. We both got on the slopes for $44 for full rentals and helmets. My son loved snowboarding- they just had about 17" of snow in the last week. I did not grow up on the snow, so the little hills with skies was just fine. They knew it was our first visit and we found a handwritten note and bottle of champagne in our room. I do not drink and would not let my son (18). Thus, I drove it back to my cousin in Solon. Still, great service.

I hope to get my wife and daughter next and he is trying to find 3 buddies to split that deal.

Jan and Feb. Spirit has RT flights for $170 and I have a LOT of points with them.

Monsters game tonight! Center ice for under $100 for 2 tix.

Melt Grill was lunch and my son said, "I'm done eating for a week." HAHA It was his first time.

Rental car, Red Line, free shuttles = so easy if you are not pressed for time.

Tomorrow, we'll just hang until our flight. Bummer that the snow is gone.
