We've been laughing for the last 50 years, it's the rest of the country that's been taking the jokes seriously. But, most other cities made videos similar to that, most of them would easily get offended.

And, Bostonians are getting very defensive about it in the YouTube comments section. LOL!

I used to see videos like these in the Portland and Seattle forums. I would wager someone has done these in just about every medium to large city in the US.

Like how Clevelanders get defensive to anything even roughly perceived as a slight in the C-D posts. We're all guilty of it.

Boston people get way more offended than Clevelanders at least Clevelanders can laugh at themselves more we've been doing it for over 50 years it's everybody else who takes it seriously and took the humor out of the jokes. Boston, say anything negative about them and they'll get defensive with the quickness. I saw the comments from people from Boston they were defensive and making all nasty comments about Cleveland.

I don't know. If you read the Boston forum it's about 50-50 homers vs disillusioned.

No I never been on the Boston forum 😂. But, they sure put down Cleveland every chance they got in that Boston video. Why do you say it's the homers vs. disillusioned?

I am just pointing out that not all Bostonians are salty. Even on the Cleveland forum, we have both me (though not a native, I'm starting my 6th year here in New England, it's been a while) and Urban Peasant who are pretty objective about Boston's plusses and minuses. The forum at large is kinda a mix of people who think Boston is incredible in every way and those who don't blame you for preferring elsewhere.

So I copied and sent these videos to a successful film making friend of mine in Seattle to get his thoughts on them. He agreed with me that they were too poorly made to be in any way offensive especially in comparison to those really well made films of this genre about his city of Seattle or my former city of Portland.

He just thought they were too amateurish to be taken seriously and were just two of the many badly made city-bashing videos all over the country in circulation.

As one other poster so eloquently put it,

“Yawn!”
