Thanks for sharing! I'm so glad it's reopened. I used to go up there a lot, can't believe it's been 9 years!

You know... I've been on top of the World Trade Center, The Empire State Building, The Sears Tower, The Hancock Building, The CN Tower, and Perry's Monument, but I've never once been up to the observation deck of the Terminal Tower. I guess I have to make it a point to do so.

Yeah, that will be kind of a PIA, but I think it would still be well worth it. And I won't have to worry about whether or not it would be sold out or not.

I'm pretty sure you can still buy tickets there--offering them online is only a new thing.

I could be wrong though.

How was access to the Terminal Tower done between 1986 and the attacks on 9/11 in 2001.

You bought a ticket at the main counter, as I recall, and then walked over to a guy near the elevator, and they eventually took you to the top. You had to go when it was open, I forget what the hours were back then perhaps only weekends, not sure.

Between 1986 and 2001, it was only open on weekends like it is today. Furthermore, were tickets timed for a specific time between 1986 and 2001 like they have been since 2010, or did you go right to the observation deck after you bought the ticket. Also, was the observation deck as popular between 1986 and 2001 as it has been since 2010 where tickets are often sold out.
