From my unofficial count, it is day 100 (on day 182 of the year) that we have had a minimum of 6 hours of full sun during the daytime this year. And, yes, it has usually been much more than 6 hours. Personally, I could use a little less sunshine and a little more rain...

I'm in CLE this week, just wondering if yesterday qualified for one of your sunny days with all the rain? If so, you should raise your expectations

The area needed that rain terribly. It's been unusually dry this summer.

Nope. And I'm hoping that we have several more days like it this coming month.

Agree, I think the whole country is looking forward to more rain

It's all relative. While inconvenient at times, I like our weather. The month of June was basically a taste of Arizona (without the 110 degree temps) with all of the sun and no rain. How anyone thinks that this is any good at all is anyone's guess.

My unofficial observations on this thread are aimed at the "sun never shines" crowd. My experiences over the past 30+ years dictate otherwise. I've always contended that, on average, we get at least 180 very sunny days per year. This count essentially proves that because January through the end of April is the grayest part of the year and we still managed to hit the 100 day mark in the first 6 months of the year. July through the end of October will probably yield 100 more.

I think if you poll most natives they will agree more with the 'sun never shines' crowd.
How can every weather site be contrary to what you believe ?
There is also the saying, 'perception is reality'.

If I poll most natives, many of them would also tell me that the moon is made of green cheese and that nobody goes/lives/works downtown. Does that make it true?

Reality is what it is. 6+ hours of sunshine between 8am and 6pm qualifies as a sunny day. Since January 1st, 2012, we have had 103 of them.

Of course, this has been anything but a typical year weatherwise... so might that not account for it?
