I don't have enough experience with the Cuyahoga County Public Library to have a real opinion, but I think the Cleveland Public Library is first-rate. I never quite realized how good it was until I moved away. Even here in Chicago, I find I don't like the city's public library system nearly as much as Cleveland's.

Little known fact, Ohio as a state has the highest percentage of top-rated library systems in the country. Every year.

Both CUY & CLE(VENET) are wonderful libraries. The main reason really behind the success though can be traced to former Governor James Rhodes, who back in the 70's set aside, permanently.an annual budget percentage for the public library system. And this money follows the inflation index to keep funding on schedule. I dont believe any other state does this....

Also we were the 2nd library in the nation to offer "Digital Downloads" of E-Books and Audio-Books.

AND the company that makes the software that almost every library uses for copying AudioBooks to devices is based right here in Cleveland.

The Cleveland Heights, Shaker Heights, and Lakewood library systems all also annually rate high on the library rankings lists.

Both Cuyahoga and Hamiltom Counties have great public libraries.

Cincinnati even has a non-profit private membership library that is really pretty great.
