Most of Euclid really isn't that bad. Sure there is more crime than there used to be, the property values have gone way down, and the schools stink, but there are worse places to live. By the lake, it's actually really nice, as is up the hill. I'm all over the city on a daily basis in all neighborhoods and all suburbs, going into vacant foreclosed homes for my job and I can tell you I'm almost never nervous going into a house in Euclid. Sure they sometimes get vandalized, and the copper pipes stolen, but it's not much worse than say, Cleveland Heights in that respect. I would rank it maybe a step below Cleveland Heights or South Euclid on the safety aspect, and a step above Garfield Heights and Maple Heights.

You're right. Most of the entire Cleveland area's violent crime is limited to some relatively small pockets of the general area.
