Beach water temperatures are 62-64 degrees all up and down the NC coast. Inshore reefs from Cape Lookout to Cape Fear are around 67-68 degrees. Today is a bit windy so most boats won't head out-But those water temps are perfect for king mackerel catches. Recent reports (This week) of kings up to 60pounds being caught.
Drum out of the surf and from the piers have been great in the same area.
Big sea mullet too!
I pulled all of this info (with permission) from the Saltwater Catch website/radio show.
