It's amazing how much people "love nature" until it begins to erode from our 7 figure waterfront home. While I appreciate the investment made in many waterfront homes, it's not the taxpayers responsibility to ensure your home stays waterfront...that part is totally up to Mother Nature.

I know it cost a CRAP ton more, but one long bridge from Bodie Island to Rodanthe would be the best. Turn Pea Island into a big wildlife refuge. But man that 14-17mile bridge would have a crazy cost.

Yeah it's not the least bit ironic that the eventual plan it looks like they're going to settle on will be a half-assed version of the long bridge. But they got the federal emergency funds to do the half-assed version, so that's the most likely scenario.

Also Pea Island already is a National Wildlife Refuge.

I know this, but Highway 12 runs through it. A bridge rendering Hwy12 useless would turn into a NWR.

If you havent heard about it. Go to website obxconnection.com There is a forum that has just about anything you want to know about the Outer banks.
