So far this year there have been reports of Great White Sharks in the surf, a gator at Carolina Beach, a cottonmouth snake, and now a rabid bobcat at Oak Island.

There has been more rabies than usual. Be careful if you see a wild animal which appears lethargic, as its sick.

Actually I think the rabies numbers are about on par to what they normally are. Just people moving into pockets where animals are and the news media covering it more(which is a good thing) Regardless vaccinate! As for GW sharks, they are not that uncommon but most of what people say are GW usually turn out to be a bull shark which are quite common here. Every year or two some fisherman turn up catching one or filming one. Bull, dusky sand and tiger they catch them quite frequently off of the piers as well. Gators always been here as well. But at least the invasive snakes have stayed in Florida for the most part!
