I may start working part-time at Camp LeJeune doing some contract work anyway, so I'll be in the area more often.
I also do a lot more driving for errands and shopping than I used to in Maryland. Sneads Ferry has it's charm, but I have to go to Jacksonville or Hampstead for specialized items. Good to hear the move has worked out for you. We sold out house in Maryland, and haven't missed the congestion.
I scan deposit my checks to NFCU. Works pretty slick and saves the drive to Jacksonville. Of course you need a scanner, but even my mom has a multi-function printer.
Thanks for the tip on the new bank, I hadn't noticed them yet. We'll have to check them out.

I wasn't aware of that option. Thanks, we'll look into it.
Reviving this thread because the former Bank of America building on Highway 17, near the junction of 50, has a new sign on it. It was apparently sold over the summer, and the Coastal Bank and Trust will be opening there. I don't know them, but it sounds more like the community bank the OP was seeking. Their only other branch is in Jacksonville.
Things move slowly in On-Slow County. The Coastal Bank and Trust has finally opened in the former B of A building in Holly Ridge near White Dental on 17.
