I have given the same answer to a couple of other people. I use Realtor.com and Craigslist to search for long-term rental houses. There are currently none on Realtor. There are a couple of houses on the Outer Banks Craigslist in either Manteo or the Collingwood development in Kill Devil Hills. The best looking place is $1200/month.

The other good suggestion is to contact the agencies which rent vacation properties and ask if any clients are willing to rent long term. Another option is to contact Realtors with home for sale and ask whether their clients are willing to rent.

Definitely a possibility for some homeowners. Owners could take a deal, for guaranteed couple of months, especially during the off-season.

Google "OBX long term rentals".That will give you links to several property management sites and their available rentals.Other than that,Craigslist is your best bet.The inventory is at or the the peak for the year, but as spring approaches, the inventory will dwindle down to almost nothing.Good luck!

If you are moving for a hospital job get everything in writing and have a attorney review it. Many have moved here only to find their verbals are worthless. The hospital has a horrible reputation among locals. Many health care professionals drive to Chesapeake Hospital because of issues at this hospital. The HR department at the OBX hospital is not liked at all by health care workers including doctors.
