Hey,

I'm a student from germany and made a trip along the US eastcoast in 2010. Amongst other places we visited some kind of colonial farm near elizabeth city. I remember that this farm covered about three houses with a mansion up in the picture i added to this topic. It seems to be a famous place (owned by a colonial governor?) and we found it in our tourist guide but I lost it. I wanted to add all the places I've been to as pins on google earth but i can't find this place anymore. After one hour of searching this place by google pictures with diferent search items i hope somebody can tell me the farms name and where it is located. I know this is not much information but I hope someone at least can give me a hint...

Thanks for your help!

It might be the Barker-Moore House in Edenton-- see the two chimneys: http://www.chowancounty-nc.gov/index...-E58B73507CA2}
However, your picture shows a widow's walk-- the fence on top of the roof. So I am not completely sure.

Thank you so much! Yeah, it was Hope Plantation. Amazing that you guys took that much information from that picture . Great...after looking it up by google for hours I could no longer differ between all the pictures there.

Thank you!

When you said "owned by a colonial governor," the first place I thought of from my ancient NC history lessons was Hope Plantation. After reading about it as a school child many years ago, I finally had a chance to visit for the first time about 10 years ago.
