If anyone knows where I can rent a garden space (or share) to put in a vegetable garden, I'm not far from carolina beach. Thank you...

I saw this comment recently: "And in Eastern North Carolina, cooperative extension agents in Pitt and New Hanover counties work with residents at public, vegetable garden sites and offer hands-on assistance for gardeners with special needs." at Gardening Together | Our State Magazine

Also check these spots:

Castle St. Community Gardens, 317 Castle St., Wilmington, NC 28401, kathryn.sisler@gmail.com

Community Garden of the Central and Eastern North Carolina, Wilmington, NC

Community Garden Initiative of Wilmington, NC, Wilmington, NC

Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church Community Garden, 2929 Princess Place Dr, Wilmington, NC 28401, Danielle Aldrich aldrich79@gmail.com

William McDuffie Community Garden at Hillcrest, 1402 Meares St., Wilmington, NC, Danielle Aldrich

The links are not good, buy maybe you can chase them down.

White Lake up in Whiteville is spring-fed. However, I don't think the geology of the coast is conducive to producing springs.

When I lived in Connecticut, there were many springs flowing out of hillsides. People collected water by the jug-full, so i know what you mean.
