Any dog-friendly attractions or restaurants in or around Topsail Island? We're planning on taking a weekend trip out before May 16th so we can take advantage of our dog being off-leash on Topsail beach. Thanks!

You might check with the Beach Shop and Grill at (910) 328-6501. Their social media page shows their bulldog sitting on a bar-stool. Their menu looks terrific and they have an outdoor porch.

Otherwise, the "bringfido" website does not show any places in Topsail Beach. It does have several dog-friendly restaurants in Wilmington. The place in Sneads Ferry has changed hands, so I am not sure it's worth going there.

New York Corner Deli in Surf City will let you sit outside with your dog and they will also provide a bowl of water. The other option is Homeport in Topsail Beach. You can order to go and sit outside at their picnic tables.

Wilmington is very dog friendly and there are several restaurants along the river that allow you to sit with you dog at an outside table.

FWIW, I wrote to the Beach Shop and Grill, and they told me the Health Department does not allow dogs inside the restaurant. So much for dubious advertising.
