We have been living off Murrayville Road in a small gated community(moved here from Florida) for ten years and it is very safe, quiet and convenient to everything. The only negative is with all the new homes and the new middle school, traffic has gotten a lot worse over the years.

I have found that alcohol is the natural lubricant of the change process.

My guess is, as a recent resident of Wilmington, it beats Youngstown Ohio in many respects (weather, quality of life I think). You will find an absence of big sports teams though. If that's an interest.

We just got back from a quick trip to wilmington, and it is a beautiful area with very nice, classy, and eclectic people. Our first impressions have us leaning towards the southern area, we loved Carolina beach and the Myrtle Grove area. We didnt get a chance to check anything out across the river in Brunswick county, but now I'm curious about that area too. The area around wilmington itself seemed a little crowded for us (i don't mind cities, but the suburb crowds get to me sometimes, weird, i know). I'd actually love to live downtown, but a large garage will be a must for us whenever we decide to buy. We toured some wonderful apartments, but i think a condo or house may fit us better.
