Well, wherever you move from MA will be a culture shock. I’d say consider Florida because there are people from all over living there and it’s politically a pretty even split. COL is decent. California definitely out, I moved from there, not at all affordable. Have you thought of New Orleans?

LOL, Liberal and low taxes are an oxymoron, ie it seldom happens. That's the problem with dedicated liberals...no tolerance for different views. Hence the need to exist with like minds, only.
There are very few liberals in coastal areas. I traveled to Wilmington today and passes a tire shop with a "Let's Go Brandon" sign and "Trump 2024 Make your vote count". Billboards feature Jesus alternating with "Guns and Ammo". The souvenir shops feature flags with automatic weapons in stripes. The liberals have gone underground.

To be fair, so have a lot of the more traditional conservatives. You won’t find many flags like that on Forrest Hills Dr or in Figure Eight or Landfall.
I personally don't want to live somewhere where everyone is the same, but as I'm quite the social liberal I don't want my town government represented by people who cut benefits to those in need.
I doubt that there is a lot of agreement about who the people in need are, how much assistance they require of taxpayers, and how long it is reasonable for them to be assisted.

I found this entire thing amusing.
Huh. My friend (quite a bit left of me) who moved to Brunswick county had quite the opposite experience -- no tolerance of her views (even mocking) and right-wing proselytizing. I suppose it all depends on where you stand.
Personally, I lean toward the old-fashioned admonition to not talk about politics or religion in general social settings.
