I'm 32 year old woman and thinking of moving to Wilmington. I live in North Florida now and I want a change of scenery. I surf and mountain bike and live a healthy/adventurous lifestyle. How good is the surf up there? Is it better than N Florida? How is the culture?

What's the single life up there like? Is there a good dating scene? I've heard great things about the area but I have never been.

I'm a designer and looking for new career opportunities as well.

The best surfing is at the Outer Banks. You do see surfers at Oak Island, Carolina Beach and so on, but it is not impressive.

You might try searching the forum for answers to your other questions. There are lots of college students in Wilmington, but I am not sure I would recommend the dating scene for someone in their 30's. You might check the online version of Wilma Magazine for the professional woman's view of Wilmington. http://www.wilmaontheweb.com/
