This new site is only 1,000 ft NW of Lowes Foods #201 in the Live Oak Village (LOV) Shopping Center. There is a CVS in LOV as well.
I'm sure both those existing stores will close after the new ones are built.

Question Is Publix scouting locations in Leland, North Carolina?

It appears Publix has been in speculation of seeking locations in Leland for a store.

Quote:
“Publix?”

“Publix were looking at some properties about a year ago, but I believe they have curtailed their plans for Leland for now,” Vidmar said.

I agree, I am looking forward to the Lidl opening in Wilmington follow by the their Leland store. I was in a Lidl in Richmond and it was very good. I think Lidl is a cross between Trader Joe's and Publix and they should have stores opening in Myrtle Beach area before they open in Wilmington.

I have noticed that the Aldi store in Wilmington is a bit more upscale with a much larger selection than the Aldi stores in less affluent areas.

Lidl is a limited assortment/discount grocer like its direct competitor Aldi. It appears to be more upscale.

I would say Lidl is a larger version of Trader Joe's. Lidl has a nice in store bakery. Lidl will be a competitor for the Trader Joe's customer like myself.

Thats funny, I've been describing it as a cross between Trader Joe's and Aldi.

I have heard the newer Aldi's in more upscale locations are nicer than some of the older Aldi's. it will be interesting to see what the new one in Leland is like. I can't imagine it can compete with Lidl.
