Looking to move down south from IL. Where in NC would u recommend?! Looking for an area with good schools. Close to the beach. Family friendly.

Im stay at home mom, my husband is a truck driver, so it really doesnt matter where we live, as long as the area is nice

Newport and Manteo are other towns with good schools. But they are much smaller than Wilmington and have more limited job markets.

You're going to need to come and scout for yourselves; hard for someone to tell you where you would like, if you've never been here.

If you want more of a "city", look near Wilmington. The rest of the coast is pretty sparse and small town-y. You probably wouldn't want to live on the Outer Banks as that would be a long haul for a truck driver all the time.
