We will be visiting multiple areas this summer but I have such a wide range I'm trying to narrow it down. I'm not finding much information on Blounts Creek, Merritt, Aurora.

I'm trying to avoid a highly congested area. My husband would like acreage and I would like to be near the water. Idealy I love would be on the water but I'm not sure of the flooding in theses areas. I've looked at the flood map and news reports but they haven't been too helpful. I work from home and internet connection is a must. I don't mind a 30 min drive or more to the nearest mall. A grocery market would be nice closer though but not necessary.

Does anyone have any input on these areas? Since they are so rural, crime really isn't popping up either.

Both Blounts Creek and Merritt are just crossroads in the middle of nowhere in Beaufort, and Pamlico County respectfully. Aurora is a really small town on the far east end of Beaufort County. None of those places are anywhere near antything so congestion is not even a though. It's a least 45 mins to an hour to any kind of mall from any of these locations. I suggest looking around Edenton. It's another small town in Chowan County, it sits on the Ablemarle Sound, it's 35 mins to the bigger Elizabeth City, and again they're should be zero congestion, but again that's if you want to be closer to something.
