My understanding is ATMC is fairly far along in certain sections of St James. ( including the Grove section where we are building) I was curious what experience folks have been having. I' m attracted to the claims of much faster speeds of Fiber Optics over Cable but has that been the experience. Overall comments on quality, service, speed, consistency and cost would be appreciative

I have Xfinity/ Comcast in my current home. The cable performance is ok but Internet speeds over wifi do not come close to their claims. However the convenience of their Iphone/IPad Apps and ability to record multiple programs and access remotely on devices is a luxury we enjoy. I cant tell from the Web if ATMC offers that much variety and remote access.

I' m in early stage of building and will have a while to make a decision . I was a few comments on the main SJP thread but think a new thread may be worthy as ATMC becomes a bigger choice for owners

Thanks

I too am interested in the ATMC experience.

I am tired of Time Warner/Spectrum. I have been with them since they came into existence but am tired of the constant price fluctuation and what I call 'nickle and dime'ing' you to death. Their speed has been good though we have had fairly persistent issues with the DVR. We have what I think they call 'triple play' or TV, internet and phone line. The phone is useless to me but they insist the package is cheaper than TV/Internet alone. I was told I had to use their modem though later I found out it was not true. Every TV in the house has to have some kind of box in order to receive any channels at all. Of course they charge you monthly for every one. A device you could probably buy for less than 20 bucks but you pay ten per, every month. The nearest service center for returning or exchanging equipment is in Wilmington. Their billing can be aggravating with sudden changes in pricing. Recently the bill went up $60 a month. After several calls were able to get it back to near what it was but this type of exchange seems to the norm in that we have gone through it numerous times through the years.

I dread the idea of re-configuring/reprogramming all my home telecommunication equipment but if ATMC can improve on the overall experience I will do it.

My experience is a bit different but that's what makes the world go round....

Quite satisfied with Time Warner / Spectrum. We have not experienced any billing flucuations, maybe we're lucky. We have 8 TV's and bought our own modum for $79, returned theirs and solved THAT situation and stopped that $10 per month. We purchased Roku's for $400 apiece and put them on all TV's except one ( one cable box comes with the subscription ) and took ALL the other cable boxes back solving THAT $$$ situation. We had the triple play but never used the phone in 4 years so I went in person and the nice lady cancelled the phone with no repercussions and now our entire bill is $138 per month.

Very happy, very seldom goes out, when we call they seem come as per appointment.

We had FIOS in NJ and was worried about no fiber optics down here but our internet is extremely fast and everything is on WIFI ( Roku and computers ) and we see no difference when we have several things going at the same time. We have had ATMC fiber in our street since day one and nobody has changed to ATMC.... maybe our street is special, I don't know. I am not a "specialist" by any means and I probably don't know what I'm talking about... but with that caveat said, I went to ATMC's presentation at the community center and they gave a whole lot of Blah Blah Blah about how many millions they're spending on installing their "cable" and how it is far superior to Spectrums' regular cable, etc, etc.... but I don't see it and the picture on my TV is so freaking clear I don'see how it can get any clearer or get my computer any more lightning fast than it already is... we talk about it with our neighbors from time to time..... but maybe I'm wrong.

When I called ATMC the next day to inquire about their packages, as I recall they were more expensive than Spectrum and it will be a long time before ATMC has the organization together to rival Spectrums' service IMHO.

That is simply MY experience.... but I also know that going over to their location in Mayfair in person is better than dealing with someone over the phone.... at least for us it is.

thank you both. My concern is service reviews for ATMC are mixed ( and assume will be addressed) and not sure the quality promised to SJP will be realized . Are the new sections ruling at the 150 MPS to 1 GP. Hopefully someone that has it in use will comment

The service by a "comparatively" ( to Spectrum ) fledgling company, ATMC, was part of my point... BTW, I am paying for 100 MBPs ( not the optional 300 MBPs available for additional fee ) and "I" would call it lightning fast.

Some good ideas here. Sounds like if I work on my system, I might save some cash.

Last time I went there I inquired about using my own rabbit ears..... the very nice "young" lady said she was not familiar with that as she was a vegetarian.
