I'm considering a move to Leland. I spend a lot of time walking and bike riding and would like to know - from those that live or have lived there - if there are trails and parks where you can walk and/or bike for up to an hour in a beautiful and serene setting. I know there's Riverwalk Park off River Road but not sure how long the trail is. What else is out there in Leland, Navassa, Belville, Winnabow?I know I can drive down to the beach but also looking for spots within a few miles. My potential new home is a little north of the village. Maybe I just need to walk/bike some town roads. I'm moving from a beach town which is very walk, hike and bike-friendly with lots of options. Just not sure there's much in Leland. Thanks in advance.

Nothing like what you describe exists in Leland. The only reasonably safe place to take an extended bike ride would be inside one of the large neighborhoods like Brunswick Forest.

Thank you. I had a feeling this was the case.

If you want street riding, then yes Brunswick Forest, and Waterford / Magnolia Greens neighborhood streets will give you plenty of roads for biking.
If you’re interested in mountain biking, about 2.5 miles south of the Riverwalk on rt 133 is Brunswick nature park.

In Wilmington there are some large parks with trails to bike through.
