Possibly moving to Wilmington ( no beach areas) & would appreciate any insight as to good & bad. We are retired & need single family home, great health care, airport & decent shopping/dining places. Would like to live within an hours drive of the ocean (love to surf fish)
Wilmington checks most of your boxes and you're 20 minutes from most beaches. Most of the flights out of Wimington fly to the big hubs on the east coast (Charlotte, Atlanta, Philadelphia, NY LaGuardia, Washington DC, DFW, and Chicago). If there's anything bad about Wilmington, is it's threat from Hurricanes and several areas flood. Evacuations are most likely if a hurricane heads that way.
Do research on your own, read through the threads on Wilmington (there are lots, do a search) - and come back with actual questions.
