With the questions about beaches being closed to visitors, I have been wondering whether there could be exceptions for the volunteers who watch for turtle nests during nesting season. I have some friends who do that, and they are not property owners at the beach. They live inland, and relay on the kindness of property owners when they park their cars.

Of course with fewer beach visitors, the turtles are much safer. There will be no man-made holes, sand-castles, bonfires, 6-pack rings, etc to interrupt their nesting crawls.

I expect the turtles will be the winners with the beaches closed.
