Hello. It is not uncommon during these terrible times to think of better days. This for me would only mean our times at the Crystal Coast. So, my DH and I , along with my son and his family, are booking for a beach vacation for this September.
Can I ask please, do you folks that reside there think things will be okay for weary travelers from Ohio? Beaches open as well as some restaurants?
I am feeling like it will be open but I would surely like the opinions of residents, or ones close to the coast. Thank you and I hope you are handling these past weeks the best you can.

Given where we are today, I think the beaches, restaurants, etc. will open well before September.

If you can get some kind of insurance, I suggest you do.

No crystal ball to foresee the future.

Here, on the NC coast, we've all got our fingers crossed that all will be back to "normal" well before Sept. But who knows?

Me? I'd make plans, but get trip insurance and check out the cancellation policy very carefully.

Make sure you can leave a refundable deposit. The confirmed cases are slowly but steadily rising in this area. We have no idea of when peak will be.

The Crystal Coast has been my permanent address for almost 40 years. The prior posters are correct about checking the cancellation policy with the rental agency. They are also correct in that no one has a crystal ball and able to foretell the COVID-19 future here.
But this I can tell you. Locals are tough and they are friendly. Surviving adversity, helping each other, and getting things back to normal are all part of living here. Barring anything really unusual, everything should be business as usual come September.
Be sure to enjoy some fresh, locally caught seafood!
God Bless!

Thank you folks for each of your replies.
We went ahead and booked for September, knowing a refund is available should things be shut down. I appreciate your responses, knowing I was a home-bound lunatic in Ohio who dearly missed the sea air! LOL Thanks again and hope you and your families see light at the end of the tunnel.
